We had opening Convocation on this first day of the spring semester at the seminary. While exchanging good morning remarks with one of my closest friends, he looked at me and said, "You know, I'm very excited that this is the first day of our last day at seminary. In fact, I haven't been this excited since our
first day at seminary." I agreed with his sentiment. We've worked very hard for the past two and a half years, and many of us can now see that glimpse of the finish line.
If anything might temper our excitement it would be the obvious uncertainty facing those looking for a call. That uncertainty could easily devolve into panic but for our faith in God's sovereignty and his steadfast love that endures forever.
