Westminster Presbyterian Minneapolis

The sculpture's caption is from Galatians 5:1, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."

  1. This is my parents favorite church.

Are you going to attend a service there? It is also the church of the former next president of the United States, Walter Mondale. I would appreciate the irony of me hanging with Karen Hughes and Condi Rice at church in Austin and then you hanging with Walter Mondale in Minnesota.

In 1988 I was a freshman in college and attended Easter services at Westminster by myself. A couple at the church introduced themselves to me during the service and ended up taking me back to their house for Easter dinner.

I've always wondered how often things like that happen. I really appreciated their kindness.

On a completely different note, is Brits Pub still across the street? I always enjoyed getting a beer there and really liked their brunch.

Enjoy the cool weather. We've got our fireplace going in Denver.

  2. Brit's is still here! We'll have a beer in your memory later this weekend.

Thanks for the comment. You're missed back in Austin, but I have to tell you that Sara and I are pretty jealous of your fireplace.

  3. Hi, Christopher! I am also on the PCUSA ring, and got to your blog through that. I'm excited to see someone like you (and your soon-to-be wife) entering the ministry. Your whole blog looks like it's worth more of my time later, and I loved the pic of this statue at the church where I was baptized and first worshipped and where I eulogized my grandmother.
